Project Title: Living Sky School Division Technology Planning Project

Background:

The Living Sky School Division wants to refresh and renew its technology plan. Considerable effort has been put into technology, and there is a need to surface opinions and philosophies about what should be done next.

Purpose:
The purpose of this project is to facilitate a technology planning process for the LSSD to review and refresh the current philosophy and direction.

Objectives:

  • To review the previous efforts of the LSSD with regards to technology.
  • To collect input from key stakeholders in the LSSD.
  • To facilitate a technology planning process for the LSSD.
  • To gather data from the planning process and bring it back to the group to work toward consensus acceptance of the plan.

Process:

  • The consultant will connect by telephone with the LSSD Learning Resources Consultant to begin and check perceptions of the process.
  • The consultant will review LSSD technology documentation.
  • The consultant will interview the Assistant Director, the Computer Systems Manager and the Learning Resources Consultant.
  • The consultant will facilitate a one-day planning process with a group including the Technology Advisory Group and the Superintendents of Curriculum and Instruction.
  • The consultant will consolidate the results of the one-day planning process.
  • The consultant will present the results of the consolidation of the process back to the same group for refinement and future use.

Tentative Timelines:
  • June 8 - Discussion with the Learning Resources Consultant
  • June 17 – focus group meeting and individual interviews and collaboratively set the dates for the planning day and the follow-up day.
  • June 18 - September 9 -- All stakeholders invited to contribute ideas to the wiki, the Learning Resources Consultant, or to Richard Schwier
  • September 10 – One-day planning meeting to consider, add, and refine ideas
  • September 10 - 30 - Consolidation of data
  • September 30 - Delivery of report and completion of process
